Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić confirmed today Serbia’s commitment to remaining a reliable partner in peacekeeping under the auspices of the United Nations in the coming period, including support for current initiatives and efforts of the UN Secretariat related to the future and reform of peacekeeping.

At the UN Peacekeeping Ministerial in Berlin, Gašić stated that for Serbia, as a significant contributor of military and police forces, unwavering support for peacekeeping and a tangible contribution to collective initiatives for peace and security provided for by the United Nations Charter are integral elements of foreign policy.
According to him, Serbia supports the efforts of the Secretary-General and the UN Secretariat regarding the reform and future of peacekeeping and remains firmly committed to the Declaration of Shared Commitments on UN Peacekeeping Operations, which it joined in 2018, as well as to the implementation of the Action for Peacekeeping initiative.
