Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today with Ambassador of Japan to Serbia Akira Imamura to discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation and partnership within the framework of joint projects.
The Prime Minister noted that Serbia and Japan have ample room to continue developing their overall relations, with particular focus on the application of IT technologies and artificial intelligence in medicine.
He stressed that Japan is an extremely important partner and that, with the country’s support, Serbia will also become stronger.
According to him, Japanese investments in the automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical and IT industries are of particular importance to Serbia, as are investments in environmental protection and culture.
Ambassador Imamura underlined that Japan seeks to foster good relations and to support the stability and prosperity of Serbia.
He noted that Belgrade is a key pillar of regional stability and that continued good cooperation is therefore of great importance to Tokyo.
Imamura also conveyed congratulations from his country’s Prime Minister on Professor Macut, MD, DSc’s appointment as Prime Minister of Serbia and delivered a letter which, among other matters, expresses Japan’s unwavering support for Serbia.
