Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Prof. Dragan Glamočić, PhD, chaired today the second session of the Crisis Response Team for the Prevention, Control and Eradication of the Infectious Foot-and-Mouth Disease.
Glamočić said that no cases of foot and mouth have been recorded in Serbia and that in the event this disease occurs, Serbia will be prepared.
All measures are being implemented preventively, at full capacity and in accordance with the highest veterinary standards, he said, emphasising that during the holidays, surveillance at border crossings, markets and farms have been intensified.
Our goal is not only to prevent the disease, but also to ensure the continuity of livestock production, stable exports and income security for our farmers, the minister concluded.
