The Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management stated today that the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture and Austrian organisation for organic production Bio Austria have invited nine agriculturalists from Serbia to visit Austrian organic food producers with the aim of getting acquainted with this type of food production.
Serbian agriculturalists will be in Austria from June 24 to July 15 and will be staying at the Waldviertel farm, around 100 kilometres north of Vienna, where they will study organic production for three weeks and together with their Austrian colleagues use their knowledge in practice.
Because of the upcoming trip to Vienna, the Austrian embassy in Belgrade held a seminar last month at which agriculturalists who are to go to Austria were given the necessary instructions.
Austria is home to 10% of all biological farms and holds a leading position in Europe. This is why the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture and Bio Austria have initiated this project of international cooperation among agriculturalists themed "Ways of Cooperation", aiming to increase interest in organic production, reads the statement.
