Kostunica told journalists that the appointment of Dulic-Markovic and Zivkov is a small change in the old, well-trained team and is confirmation of the continuity of the government’s policy.
The Prime Minister recalled that Dulic-Markovic and Zivkov did a lot in the Serbian agriculture sector in the past two and a half years.
He also announced that this government will not give up negotiations with the EU and added that relations between Serbia and the EU must be based on partnership. Just as Serbia needs Europe, Europe needs Serbia, Kostunica stressed.
There is work on the new constitution ahead of us, Kostunica said and added that the process of adopting the constitution will be fast.
In talks with parliament Speaker Predrag Markovic, the Prime Minister was assured that political and expert consultations are on a satisfactory level.
In months-to-come, Serbia has very serious negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija, Kostunica said adding that negotiations will be done in consultation and with support of the parliament.
Kostunica recalled that negotiations must be based on principles of stability and peace in the international community, that is, respect of territorial integrity and sovereignty of one undoubtedly democratic state, as Serbia is today.
Everything else would be a dangerous exception and violation of these rules, said Kostunica.
