UNFPA strong partner of Serbia in field of gender equality

Macura stressed that significant results have been achieved in the prevention of violence, noting that the number of women murdered in Serbia has decreased by 42% compared to the period 15 years ago.
The UNFPA representative emphasised that it is very important to form a special cabinet in the Government with the portfolio of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women.
Stating that Serbia has a strong partner in UNFPA, Keita praised the results of this cabinet, its cooperation with civil society organisations, and the research and educational projects it implements.
