Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has met with Director of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Michael Deppler and told him that the Serbian government is devoted to the continuation of reforms and harmonisation of the country's economic system with EU standards.
Deppler said that Serbia has made considerable progress regarding macroeconomic stabilisation and stressed that in the past two years, the GDP growth rate was 7%.
He said he is pleased with the IMF's cooperation with Serbia, adding that the Fund is open for new arrangements with the Serbian government.
Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo and of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic, as well as Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic, also attended the meeting.
