Serbia takes part in Vienna conference on avian flu

The Serbian Ministry of Health has said that a two-day conference called “International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Influenza” has started today in Vienna. The meeting is being organised by the EU, the UN and the World Bank.
Delegations from all countries of the world will attend the conference, including Serbia’s delegation led by Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic. The Serbian delegation will also comprise Assistant Minister of Health Aleksandar Makaj, president of the Ministry of Health’s working group for avian influenza Predrag Kon and head of the veterinary inspection department in the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Slavoljub Stanojevic, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
This conference will focus on global progress in pandemic preparedness and response, examine the status of donor funding, discuss drug and vaccine development as well as other issues.
