Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović signed today a Memorandum of Understanding with the French Development Agency (AFD) to support Serbia in the energy transition process.
The cooperation with French partners envisages the development of innovative tools and solutions that will help Serbia achieve its climate goals and comply with European Union standards.
Đedović Handanović said that energy is taking an increasingly important place in bilateral cooperation between Serbia and France, as evidenced by several agreements signed this year in the field of nuclear energy and critical and strategic minerals.
The Minister emphasised that the Memorandum represents a new phase in the cooperation between Serbia and the AFD, adding that this project will be used to improve the planning and management of the energy transition process, in line with our strategic goals.
AFD Chief Executive Officer Rémy Rioux highlighted the importance of partnership with Serbia and added that this memorandum illustrates the AFD’s dedication to supporting Serbia in building a sustainable energy future.
