Vojislav Kostunica
The Serbian government's official web site gives the text of the greeting in full.
"On behalf of the Serbian government and myself, I most cordially congratulate you on becoming the Prime Minister of Italy.
I am convinced that our countries will continue to cherish and advance their good and extremely friendly relations. Today, Italy is Serbia's largest foreign trade partner, but it is even more important that our relations are always improving in every other way, as well. Your country's friendly support is of special significance to Serbia in these historical times our country is going through.
Italy has always been familiar with our region's history and culture, which is why Rome's positive attitude towards the preservation of peace and stability in the Balkans is very important. Your country's understanding for Serbia’s, as well as the entire Balkan's tendencies to join the EU is of the highest importance. We remember with pleasure and gratitude your personal contribution to these processes, from the time when you presided over the European Commission.
By extending my congratulations to you for becoming the Prime Minister of Italy, I wish to you a lot of success in performing the duties you have taken upon yourself", reads the Serbian Prime Minister's greeting.
