In a statement to the FoNet agency, Kostunica pointed out that the adoption of a new constitution must be carried out now, or citizens and the public should be informed about what is hindering its adoption.
He recalled that the Serbian government submitted a draft constitution to parliament two years ago and said that "we are therefore obliged to take all necessary steps as soon as possible to consult the relevant political parties in order to have a new constitution".
"I am convinced that there are no insurmountable differences and that all it takes is to show political willingness to conclude this affair of immense importance for Serbia at this moment", said the Prime Minister.
Kostunica also pointed out that all speculations about the government's intentions to sort out the status of certain Serbia-Montenegrin ministers through decrees are absolutely unfounded.
"The only proper place to discuss this matter is in Serbian parliament, of course", concluded Kostunica.
