The Prime Minister expressed his concern about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and Priština’s unilateral moves, which do not contribute to the easing of tensions, but rather aggravate the position of Serbs in the southern Serbian province and lead to destabilisation of the situation in the entire region.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Albin Kurti continues to exert pressure and terror on Serbs, sending them the message that they cannot remain and survive in Kosovo and Metohija.
The anti-Serb policy is Kurti’s only political platform that he is offering to his voters ahead of the elections scheduled for February 2025, in the absence of an economic and social programme, the Prime Minister said.
Vučević pointed out that the Serbian government is persistent in addressing all challenges and will remain committed to preserving peace and stability in the interest of the entire region. He noted that it is necessary to exert international pressure on Priština to continue the dialogue with Belgrade and stop the terror against Serbs.
Ziadeh expressed her concern about events affecting the economic and social rights of Serbs and other non-Albanian populations in Kosovo and Metohija and emphasised that it is important that all issues be resolved within framework of the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
Ziadeh confirmed UNMIK’s unwavering commitment to the respect and protection of human rights, including the principle of equality and non-discrimination, which is one of the pillars of the human rights framework.
She also praised the participation of representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces in UN peacekeeping missions, which demonstrates Serbia’s readiness to assume responsibility for global security.
