Police seize 22 kilograms of heroin at Batrovci border crossing

The Serbian Ministry of Interior stated today that some 22 kilograms of heroin were seized today at the Batrovci border crossing in a joint operation of the criminal and border police units of Serbia.
During a check, the police found in a Mercedes with Austrian licence plates, driven by Turkish citizen Savket J., 21 kilograms and 597 grams of heroin packed into 42 parcels and hidden in a specially made storage space by the fuel tank, and in the back seat of the car, the statement said.
The police of Sremska Mitrovica detained Sevket J. for 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the investigating judge with a criminal complaint, it is added in the statement.
