Serbia’s significant contribution to preserving peace, security in world

Đurić, speaking about the history of Serbia’s participation in multinational operations under the auspices of the United Nations and the European Union, pointed out that Serbia ranks first among contributor countries in the region of Southeast Europe in terms of the number of peacekeepers deployed around the world.
According to him, this contributed to Serbia being positioned as a responsible and credible partner in preserving peace and security in the world.
He also emphasised that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are facing unprecedented terror from Kurti's regime, and that they face violations of basic human, economic and political rights every day.
The Minister said that Belgrade stands for peace in the region and dialogue as a mechanism for the survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, but that, through the measures recently adopted by the government of Serbia, it will continue to insist on the implementation of the agreements reached so far.
The head of Serbian diplomacy particularly emphasised the importance of UNMIK’s role as the framework for maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija.
Đurić also invited Sison to attend an event on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly dedicated to the upcoming international exhibition EXPO 2027, hosted by Serbia.
