Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić today informed the ambassadors of the European Union countries about the violations of the rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as about the steps that Serbia will take in this regard.
Đurić announced after the meeting that Serbia's global diplomatic campaign for the rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, for the salvation and survival of our people and dialogue, as an instrument for the survival of our people, began today.
According to him, the aim of the measures presented by President Aleksandar Vučić is to protect the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, preserve the dialogue as a key instrument for normalising the situation on the ground, and remove the catastrophic consequences of the actions of Albin Kurti, who trampled on the collective human, political and economic rights of Serbs.
The aim is also to make it easier for our people to survive in the southern province, he explained.
He noted that the special session of the government of Serbia on Kosovo and Metohija today aims for the measures and even more material support to reach the people in Kosovo and Metohija as soon as possible.
He added that the goal is also to initiate a legislative process for a special Prosecutor’s Office that will prosecute and finally punish those associates of Kurti who were involved in torture and severe abuse in Kosovo and Metohija, to expose them to criminal liability in keeping with international law and in accordance with the principle of complementarity.
