Prime Minister Miloš Vučević opened the Electric Vehicles Days event dedicated to electromobility and innovations in the automotive, energy, transport and technology sectors today at the Novi Sad Fair.
The event has gathered leading automotive companies, manufacturers of electric vehicle (EV) components, parts and software, as well as innovators in the field of EV and hybrid vehicle charging and infrastructure, Vučević said, noting that the event also has a broader scope.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the even does not only serve for the promotion of electric vehicles, but also as an opportunity to discuss issues such as the registration of these vehicles and how insurance companies handle insurance for EVs and hybrid vehicles, among other topics.
Furthermore, the discussions are addressing topics such as how to ensure a sufficient electricity supply in Serbia in the coming period, as well as how to protect public health and the environment while simultaneously developing economically, the Prime Minister stressed.
He recalled that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić recently spoke about the end of the fourth industrial revolution and the entry into the fifth industrial revolution, as well as the historical circumstances that have accompanied the process.
We entered the fourth revolution somewhat faster thanks to information technologies and innovations and everything that is most often associated with the Faculty of Technical Sciences and numerous other research centres in Novi Sad, said the Prime Minister.
Vučević added that it is a positive development that the fair organisers have recognised the exploitation of ores, minerals, and metals as an important topic, and it is even better that both proponents and opponents of lithium mining have accepted the invitation for a discussion.
The exhibition part of the event will feature over 40 models of vehicles from various manufacturers, with certain models of electric and hybrid vehicles debuted at the event.
