Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić held discussions today with Secretary General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (Bureau International des Expositions - BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes on topics of importance for the upcoming specialised exhibition EXPO 2027, which Serbia will host.
Đurić expressed his appreciation to the BIE Secretary General and his team for their dedication in preparing and organising this significant event for Serbia.
The head of Serbian diplomacy said that the upcoming EXPO 2027 is very important for Serbia’s global repositioning, adding that the event will provide a platform for participants and guests from all the meridians of the world to experience first-hand what the country has to offer.
The fact that Serbia was given the rare opportunity and selected to host this prestigious exhibition among many contenders reflects the country’s development and progress, Đurić said, noting the challenge ahead in ensuring that EXPO 2027 in Belgrade becomes the best edition to date.
Đurić pointed out that the EXPO has been a central topic in his international meetings and discussions since assuming office, noting that Serbia's desire as the host is to gather as many participating countries as possible.
