Mali pointed out that today is an important day and a big step towards organising the EXPO 2027 exhibition because we are handing in the Recognition Dossier, the last and most important document that we need to hand in to formally complete the candidacy.
He noted that the document contains details on the legal and financial aspects of the exhibition, participants and all other aspects that will make this exhibition the biggest event in this part of Europe.
Mali pointed out that this document fulfilled all the requirements and standards set by BIE.
The Minister specified that the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions will be held on 26 November, when the Recognition Dossier should be officially adopted.
He reminded that EXPO is part of the "Serbia 2027" Plan, which includes 323 projects throughout Serbia and an investment of approximately €17 billion in infrastructure.
The most important thing for us is that through this EXPO we presented to the citizens Plan Serbia 2027. Some of the planned investments include the construction of roads, expressways, railways, schools, hospitals and facilities for energy infrastructure, specified Mali.
The Minister pointed out that the project will aim to improve the quality of life in Serbia.
We plan for salaries to be increased to €1,400 by 2027, while the minimum wage and pensions will be €650, he pointed out and added that Serbia will continue preparations in accordance with the plan and improve infrastructure in order to present a new, more modern Serbia to the world in 2027.
Kerkentzes said that this is a key moment in the EXPO project since the moment Serbia received a bid to organize the EXPO 2027 specialized exhibition in June last year.
I have always believed that this exhibition will not only bring benefits to Serbia and its citizens, but it will give a great impetus to the development of the entire region and Europe. We see how much work has been done and how this location has already been built, we see the piles that have been driven and we believe that this will be an opportunity for the whole world to come to Serbia and see it in the best light, Kerkentzes said.
