Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirović said today that the trade exchange between Serbia and Japan last year amounted to €330 million, but that our goal is for it to reach the level of over €1 billion annually in the coming years.
During the first day of the official working visit of a state business delegation of Serbia to Japan, Momirović said that this can only be done if we attract new investments from that country.
The minister pointed out that Japanese companies operating in Serbia have invested more than €500 million in the last seven or eight years, and added that much more can be achieved.
He said that he expects Japanese businessmen to visit Belgrade in October already, especially those who have not thought about Serbia as an investment destination until now.
Today, the state business delegation of Serbia held meetings in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in the Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO), as well as with businessmen in the Japanese Business Federation "Keindaren".
