Serbia’s participation at World Summit on Information Society catches notice

Belgrade/Geneva, 31 May 2024

Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić held in Geneva at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)+20, as part of the Global Summit entitled “Artificial Intelligence for the Public Good", a presentation during the ministerial panel that caught the attention of the audience, and on that occasion pointed out the exceptional results achieved by our country in the field of telecommunications.

Ristić called for additional intensification of cooperation in the field of telecommunications, in which Serbia is the leader in our region.

During his presentation and numerous bilateral meetings, he paid special attention to the possibilities and expected results of the specialised exhibition EXPO, which will be held in Belgrade in 2027, and on that occasion repeated the invitation to high-ranking state officials and leaders of international organisations for the participation of their countries and organisations in this prestigious event, which has already attracted exceptional interest from the world public.

The goal of the World Summit on the Information Society is to define guidelines for the development of global digital infrastructure and promote policies that would enable inclusive access to information and communication technologies.
