Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský highlighted the good relations between the two countries in a telephone conversation today.
Đurić recalled that Serbia and the Czech Republic have long-standing friendly relations both at the political level and in other areas of interstate cooperation.
He expressed his gratitude for the support that the Czech Republic provides to Serbia on its way to full membership in the European Union, assessing that it is of great importance in the accession process.
Speaking about the current political events in the world, the Minister said that Serbia wants to play a constructive role, that it will always be a reliable partner to the international community, and that one of the main goals of our country is the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
He pointed out that due to many recent events and unilateral moves of so-called Kosovo authorities, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina did not progress.
Đurić emphasised that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija suffer various pressures every day, as well as that Priština has still not fulfilled the provisions of the agreements made to date, primarily the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
During the talks it was stated that, although Serbia and the Czech Republic do not always have the same views on certain issues, this is not an obstacle to good relations between the two countries and the two peoples.
