Đedović Handanović, on the panel "Technological innovations and green energy transition", invited Italian companies to recognise the improved opportunities for investment in the energy sector of Serbia, so that the cooperation between the two countries in that area would be even more developed and intensive than before.
The Minister pointed out that the energy transition process offers an opportunity to expand cooperation, and noted that the legislative framework has been improved in Serbia, which created the conditions for various types of investment in renewable energy sources.
She pointed out that Serbian and Italian companies are jointly developing wind power projects in Serbia worth almost €250 million, three of which have been completed, while another 10 are under development.
In the field of solar energy, as she stated, Serbian, Italian and Chinese companies are planning one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Europe, "Agrosolar Tower", which involves the production of agricultural crops and electricity on an area of approximately 700 hectares.
During the Italy-Serbia Business Forum, Đedović Handanović signed an Incentive Letter of financial support between the Republic of Serbia and the Italian insurance financial group SACE, while "Elektroprivreda Srbije" and the financial institution of Italy "Cassa Depositi e Prestiti" signed a financial Program to support decarbonisation and green transition.
