The First Deputy Prime Minister welcomed Ghani, who is on her first official visit to Serbia, and pointed out that Serbia has come a long way from a country with a GDP of €33 billion in 2012 to one of the fastest growing European economies, which last year reached almost €70 billion of GDP, with a clear goal and vision to reach €100 billion by 2027.
According to him, special attention in the country is now being paid to the upcoming organisation of the International Specialised EXPO 2027 exhibition, which will be a great opportunity for Serbia and a new source of further growth.
Our competitive advantage is quick decision-making, we will apply the best practices and plan investments in all sectors of society through the broader plan "Serbia 2027", all with the aim of raising the quality of life of our citizens, developing our economy and further improving infrastructure. EXPO 2027 is our "excuse" to work even harder, said Mali.
Ghani praised the good results of Serbia and said that Serbia should continue to improve the business environment and attract more direct foreign investments.
She emphasized that there is great potential for improving bilateral, above all economic and trade cooperation between Great Britain and Serbia, as well as that Great Britain is very interested in intensifying economic relations with Serbia.
