Prime Minister Miloš Vučević attended last night a formal reception for the celebration of Europe Day, which was organised by Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret in the Botanical Garden.
The reception began with the playing of the anthems of Serbia and the European Union, after which President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić addressed those present and said that it is important to remember the reasons for which the EU was created, the basis on which it was created, and what it is that connects us.
He pointed out that the EU is the biggest peace project in the history of the continent, as well as that for Serbia it is one of the most important things - preserving peace, life and paving the way for the life and future of young people.
The EU is our largest investor and that money is not small for us. Without the EU, there would be no infrastructural, school, educational, scientific projects, and for that I express my immense gratitude to the countries and people in the EU who helped Serbia, said the President.
Vučić emphasised that the European path is Serbia's strategic decision and wished everyone a happy Europe Day on behalf of himself and the citizens of Serbia.
Giaufret emphasised that the EU is fully committed to supporting the citizens of Serbia to join the big, European family to which they belong.
