Speaking at a joint press conference with the Chinese president, Vučić said that Belgrade supports the One China principle.
He pointed out that with the Joint Statement signed, Serbia and China are moving from strategic bilateral relations to a community that speaks of a common future and is the highest form of cooperation between the two countries, assessing that this statement is a strategically important direction for the development of our bilateral relations, but also for our view of the world.
The President recalled that for the past three years, China was our largest investor, and the second largest partner in trade in goods.
Vučić also said that Xi confirmed that China will not only participate in the EXPO 2027 event, but will also use its experience and knowledge to help our country organise it and present ourselves in the best light.
The Serbian President expressed his gratitude to the Chinese delegation for a €26 million donation for support to the further development of Serbia.
We see opportunities for progress in all areas of social life. Also, we have exceptional cooperation in the field of security and defence, and we expect strengthening of relations in the field of environmental protection and energy, he underlined.
According to him, in the coming years, we will be able to export almost 95 percent of the products made in our country to the People's Republic of China without any tariffs or duties.
Bearing in mind that today Chinese tariffs on goods from Europe are between 38 and 62 percent, it is clear how much of an advantage Serbian goods will have on such a huge, significant and increasingly rich market without those tariffs, Vučić emphasised.
The President of China said that China and Serbia, as true friends and good partners, have a very strong mutual political trust.
Xi confirmed that six practical steps are being taken in cooperation between the two countries, including the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement, China's support in organising the EXPO exhibition, the import of more agricultural products from Serbia, and China also welcomes the opening of new airlines.
According to him, China will also support 50 young scientists from Serbia and invite 300 young people to study in China.
