The energy sector represents a priority in cooperation of southeast European countries, which was clearly shown in October 2005 in Athens with the signing of the Contract on forming the energy union.
Together with other relevant ministries in the region, Naumov will discuss key energy issues which should improve cooperation and simultaneously point at the opportunities for economic development and benefits for the signatory countries.
Participants at the Thessalonica meeting will also discuss the importance of implementation of the Contract on forming the energy union, new perspectives in the energy sector, the importance of formation of internal electricity and gas markets, adoption of rules for formation of internal energy markets, as well as the importance of the Kyoto Protocol.
