The Ministry of Energy and Mining stated that Naumov and Malcharek talked about reform processes in the Serbian energy sector, its integration in the Pan-European energy community, and its the role in the regional integration processes, the potential and possibilities of the Serbian electric power, oil and gas sectors.
Slovakian Minister of Economy pointed to the crucial role of energy sectors for the general economic development of each state, as well as to the possibilities for using Slovakia's experiences in the EU accession process, attraction of capital and investment, and access to resources from EU funds.
The Serbian minister voiced readiness for cooperation with Slovakian state institutions in the sphere of implementation of EU regulations and restructuring of the energy sector that includes electricity, oil and gas, and the mining sector, as well as concerning the role of state bodies in the reorganisation of public companies in the field of electric power industry.
The talks were also attended by representatives of Serbian and Slovakian companies and institutes which have already established business cooperation.
Representatives of Slovakian companies expressed interest in cooperation with the Serbian Electric Power Industry, participation in the continuation of construction of underground gas storage in Banatski Dvor and joint ventures, participation in the third world markets and construction of facilities for using renewable energy sources.
The two officials also agreed that the text of the Protocol of the Working group for energy and mining be harmonised today, which is one of the five working groups that are taking part in the First sitting of the Mixed Serbia-Montenegrin and Slovakian commission for economic cooperation.
