On that occasion, Cvetkovic expressed Serbia's openness to even more American investments, and presented the projects that Serbia will implement in the next three years, with a special focus on EXPO 2027.
The officials also discussed further US support for the "Open Balkans" initiative, while Escobar confirmed the full American commitment to that project.
Cvetkovic also referred to the issue of abolishing double taxation, which burdens large American investors in Serbia, and Escobar replied that the US administration will seriously consider a positive solution to this issue.
Cvetkovic and Marinkovic thanked Escobar for his great support in encouraging American companies to invest in Serbia, with a special emphasis on cooperation within the IT sector and energy.
At the meeting, the need to re-establish dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina was also presented, and the prerequisite for further talks is the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities.
During his visit to Washington, the Minister of Economy also discussed with the leadership of the National Democratic Institute about the improvement of cooperation and the implementation of a large number of projects implemented by that organization in Serbia.
At the meeting, good cooperation and great support of the National Democratic Institute for Serbia was noted when it comes to the improvement of democratic capacities and practices, but also the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and the United States of America.
