The Serbian government sent an official letter late today to the Serbia-Montenegrin Ministry of Defence, requesting that it secure, using institutional means and in the shortest time possible, the position of the Serbia-Montenegrin Army be fully equalised in the entire territory of the state union, as prescribed by the Constitutional Charter.
The Serbian governments says in the letter that the Doctrine of the Serbia-Montenegrin Army must be respected in the country's entire territory and that it cannot apply only to Serbia, which has been made possible by yesterday's decision of the Supreme Defence Council.
That is why all decisions that put the Army of Serbia-Montenegro in different positions in the member states must be altered as soon as possible. We expect you either to take all necessary measures to secure that the Doctrine of the Serbia-Montenegrin Army apply to the entire territory of the state union, or to revoke the decision that the Doctrine be applied only in Serbia as one member state, reads the government's official letter.
