Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Serbia Niklas Lindqvist.
The Prime Minister assessed that the relations between the two countries are good, but that there is considerable space for their additional improvement, especially when it comes to the exchange of high-level visits.
Bearing in mind that Finland supports very successfully high-tech companies, innovations and has a well-developed startup ecosystem, the interlocutors agreed that the focus of cooperation will be primarily on increasing the exchange of services, education, digitalisation and in the field of artificial intelligence development, where Serbia is achieving very good results.
Lindqvist expressed interest in intensifying visits at both the high and working levels, especially considering that the trade exchange between our countries is growing steadily and continuously, as well as that there is room for improvement.
He informed the Prime Minister that his desire is that a direct flight between our capitals is established, which will be an exceptional incentive for deepening economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister informed the Finnish Ambassador about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, which is very difficult, and highlighted great concern when it comes to the safety of the Serbian and non-Albanian population in the southern Serbian province.
