Following the initiative of President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic, the previous bill was withdrawn and public consultations were organised in three rounds of negotiations – with representatives of public companies, non-governmental organisations, civil society, as well as especially with the media, including journalists on economic and business matters.
The reason for passing this law is not the privatisation of existing public companies; on the contrary, the goal is their empowerment, corporatisation and better management, with the intention of achieving better business results.
The government of Serbia adopted the Decree on establishing the Programme for encouraging the development of entrepreneurship through financial support for female entrepreneurship in 2023, with the aim of strengthening female entrepreneurship, increasing the number of economic entities and further encouraging employment.
RSD 600 million of grants is intended to encourage female entrepreneurship, and the programme represents a combination of grants from the budget and favourable loans from the Development Fund.
Members of the government adopted the Decision on the declaration of natural disaster in 28 local self-government units.
This decision was made due to the damage caused to public buildings in public ownership, family residential buildings owned by citizens and agricultural crops, after strong stormy winds, heavy rains and hail in July this year.
Given that the implementation of this decision requires help from the state treasury, the Ministry of Economy will propose to the government the adoption of state reconstruction programmes, which will specify the financial resources needed for their implementation, and efforts will be made to start rehabilitation works as soon as possible damage to all buildings.
