The Ministry of the Interior stated that due to the consequences of the storm that hit Serbia last night, a state of emergency has been declared in the entire territory of the city of Sremska Mitrovica, as well as in the municipalities of Sid and Ruma.

Since the beginning of the storm, members of the Ministry of the Interior’s Department for Emergency Situations made a total of 234 interventions, of which 21 interventions of extinguishing fires caused by lightning, 166 interventions of removing fallen trees and 24 interventions of removing tin roofs and other.
During all the interventions, 20 persons were rescued, of whom 12 in Novi Sad, four in Kragujevac, two in Nis and one each in Smederevo and Belgrade.
A total of 558 firefighters-rescuers, with 224 vehicles, were engaged in 234 interventions.
