The meeting dealt with the perspective of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and the importance of continuing the engagement of the UNMIK Mission on all matters of importance for the consistent implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
The two officials also discussed the current security and political situation in Kosovo and Metohija, especially in the context of recent incidents, which further increase tensions.
Dacic reiterated that Serbia is committed to dialogue as the only way to solve current problems, but that the essence is in respecting what was agreed upon and that in this context, the implementation of the obligations undertaken is necessary, above all the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, even though ten years have passed since the signing of the Brussels Agreement.
The First Deputy Prime Minister confirmed Serbia’s readiness to continue being a relevant participant in UN peacekeeping operations and thus give its contribution to building peace and security in the world.
During the meeting, Lacroix commended the participation of representatives of Serbia in the UN-mandated missions, first and foremost, the quality and professionalism of their engagement.
The interlocutors voiced their expectation that the good cooperation will continue in the future.
