Minister of Justice Maja Popovic stated during the talks with Vice-President of Eurojust Bostjan Skrlec that Serbia and the European Union have the same goals when it comes to the fight against transnational crime.
For this reason, it was pointed to the importance of continuous cooperation between the state authorities of the Republic of Serbia and Eurojust in investigations and criminal prosecution, which covers the territory of Serbia and one or more member states of the European Union.
In addition, the need for intensive exchange of information, evidence and useful experiences was highlighted, in order to effectively prevent and fight against complex and serious forms of cross-border crime.
The two officials underlined the necessity for the states, on whose territory organised criminal groups operate, to develop close and dynamic cooperation in confronting the current and future challenges posed by serious crime, especially organised crime and terrorism, reads a statement from the Ministry of Justice.
