Security situation in Serbia stable

Belgrade, 13 February 2023

The Serbian government stated today that at a session of the Bureau for Coordination of Security Services, chaired by Secretary of the National Security Council Ivica Dacic, and in whose work President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic took part, the current security situation in the Republic of Serbia was examined, with a special emphasis on Kosovo and Metohija.

It was concluded that despite numerous challenges and threats to the security of the country, the security situation in Serbia is stable and that all security services work actively to remove any possible security risk to peace and stability in Serbia and the region, as well as to our citizens.

Also, topics related to the reflections of the crisis in Ukraine on the situation in Serbia were examined, as well as constant challenges to the country’s security coming from illegal migrants, especially in the north of Vojvodina.

The session of the Bureau was attended by its members, Director of the Security and Intelligence Agency Aleksandar Vulin, Director of the Military Security Agency Major-General Zoran Stojkovic, Minister of the Interior Bratislav Gasic, President of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Igor Mirovic and Director of the Office of the National Security Council and Classified Information Protection Goran Matic.
