Minister of the Interior Bratislav Gasic expressed his deepest condolences to Ambassador of Turkey to Belgrade Hami Aksoy, for the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck this country early this morning and emphasised that Serbia will send two specialist rescue teams from the ruins.

At the meeting with the Ambassador of Turkey, Gasic emphasised that Serbia is with the Turkish people in these difficult times, and that the Interior Ministry of Serbia will provide all the necessary assistance.
He specified that the Interior Ministry, upon the order of the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic, will send to Turkey two specialist rescue teams of the Emergency Situations Department.
Aksoy emphasised that Serbia once again confirmed that it is a true friend of Turkey, expressing gratitude to our country for the quick help.
He reminded that since 1939 this is the second major earthquake that hit Turkey, that the area affected by the earthquake suffered significant destruction and that a large number of people lost their lives.
