The Serbian Ministry of Economy stated today following the announced trade in block of shares of the Vecernje Novosti company that it will, as in previous cases of announced non-institutional and untransparent trade in shares, insist on the legally prescribed way of trading Vecernje Novosti shares, and on legally prescribed procedures and institutions in charge of trade in securities.
The Ministry of Economy warns the potential participants in the trade that the ownership issue in Vecernje Novosti has still not been resolved, especially concerning the state's share, which is still being examined by the Belgrade Commercial Court. Therefore, there are no conditions for legitimate trade in shares of Vecernje Novosti.
The Ministry will strive to secure the inviolability of ownership rights of all shareholders, including the Republic of Serbia which also has a stake in Vecernje Novosti, regardless of their number and market value.
