The Serbian government has announced a three-day mourning period because of the tragedy that took place yesterday in Montenegro. The Serbian government, the Serbian President and all of Serbia absolutely share the terrible pain of Montenegro.
The Serbian President and the Serbian government have conveyed their deepest condolences to the Montenegrin President, the Montenegrin government and to the families of the victims and to all citizens of Montenegro.
The Serbian government has brought the decision to put all its available resources at the disposal of the Montenegrin government and in cooperation with the Montenegrin government provide all the necessary help.
The Serbian government in agreement with the Serbia-Montenegrin Council of Ministers will specify the financial help for families of the dead and injured.
The Serbian government has opened a special account through which the citizens of Serbia can offer help to the families of victims.
The account number is: 840-1352721-57, with the designation – help for victims in the train accident in Montenegro. The reference number is 9741-601.
The Serbian President and members of the Serbian government will contribute to this account with sums contributed from their personal salaries.
Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Defense Zoran Stankovic, who visited the site of the accident the previous night, informed the Serbian government on the activities of the Serbia-Montenegrin army in the rescue and care of victims.
Serbian President Boris Tadic and Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica will travel today to Podgorica in order to visit those injured in the train accident.
