Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin spoke within the framework of the 90th session of the Interpol General Assembly with Director of Intelligence of the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom Stephen Smart.
The two officials pointed out that there is room for intensifying the operational cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom, especially in the areas of combating organised crime, arms smuggling, high-tech crime, people smuggling, drug trafficking and in the areas of combating financial crime.
Vulin and Smart pointed out that the exchange of operational data between the police is of crucial importance in the fight against crime.
During the meeting, the Minister of the Interior emphasised that the Serbian police is a serious and reliable international partner in the fight against organised crime and that the Serbian police has confirmed this in numerous international actions.
Smart pointed out that the Serbian police made a great contribution to international actions aimed at fighting organized crime and drug trafficking.
At the meeting, it was agreed to continue the partnership and cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, according to the press release of the Ministry of the Interior.
