Serbian language summer school “Summer in the Homeland“ organised in Trsic

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development stated that it is organising for the first time this summer at the Scientific and Educational Cultural Centre “Vuk Karadzic“ in Trsic the Summer school of the Serbian language and culture for students from the diaspora “Summer in the Homeland“.

The classes will be held in three time slots during the school holidays and will include 217 students from the diaspora and 17 teachers.

The first group of students from France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Greece are wrapping up their stay in Trsic and they have shown today at a final performance everything they learned in the summer school.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic said that the Ministry established this education centre for the purpose of studying the Serbian language, culture and tradition.

Such centres are important as support to students who want to additionally improve their knowledge, interests and abilities. We have hosted students from the diaspora for the first time and we will continue to do so, he added.

The stay of students in this centre is for free and the centre’s programmes are fully financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
