The Ministry of the Interior stated today that members of several gangs were arrested in an international operation coordinated by EUROPOL and EUROJUST, in which the police of Croatia and Serbia took part.
In Serbia, members of the Criminal Police Directorate, Office for the Fight against Organised Crime, Internal Control Sector, Belgrade Police Administration, Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie, in association with the Prosecutor’s Office for Organised Crime and the Security and Intelligence Agency, arrested five members of a gang that was active in the territory of Serbia, Europe and South America.
They are charged with the offence of criminal association for the purpose of committing criminal acts of first-degree murder, illicit production and distribution of narcotics, illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives, causing public danger and abuse of office.
Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin stated on this occasion that Serbia is a reliable partner of international organisations that fight crime and a country where no one is privileged.
