No negotiations with police preceded Lukovic's surrender

Serbian Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic said that after the chief suspect for the assassination of Serbian prime minister Zoran Djindjic, Milorad Lukovic "Legija", surrendered, he was taken to the police and then to the detention unit of the Belgrade's District Prison.

Jocic said that police stopped being responsible for Lukovic from the moment he was taken to the detention unit.
Jocic said that Lukovic's voluntary surrender was not preceded by any negotiations with the Serbian Ministry of Interior (MUP), and added that the legal procedure was fully obeyed.
Since the indictment against Lukovic has come into force, and he will be tried by a Special Court for the Fight Against Organised Crime, Lukovic was not questioned at the police station and no statements were taken from him because that is in the jurisdiction of the special court, Jocic said.
