The Serbian government adopted at its session today a bill on distribution of transfer funds from the Republic budget and from the participation of municipalities, towns and the city of Belgrade in the income tax for the year 2006.
The government also adopted a bill on amendments to the Law on Public Debt of the Republic of Serbia on the basis of taking over the liabilities of Serbia’s Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO) fund for employees, due to overdue pensions and pecuniary compensations.
A bill on issuing counter-guarantees to the state union of Serbia-Montenegro concerning a loan granted by the European Investment Bank was also passed at today’s session, as well as a Decree on issuing an extra-payment postage stamp themed “European Water Polo Championship 2006”.
The government also passed a Decision on special conditions for the export of sugar to EU countries, envisaging export of 180,000 tonnes of sugar and products made of sugar at the EU preferential rates.
The government also adopted a Strategy of social security development, which will be implemented through a reform process in accordance with the international aims of overall economic and social development, poverty reduction and provision of higher-quality protection for children, disabled and elderly persons.
A Solution for using the funds from the current budgetary reserves for financing regular activities of the Anti-Corruption Council was also passed.
The government also adopted the Information on the need for signing the Programme for improving activities in and reviving the municipalities of the Jablanica and Pcinja districts, where there is a special need for such aid. This programme will be realised through the UN development project.
The government adopted a Conclusion on using budgetary funds for Kosovo-Metohija. The contemplated expenditure of 382,693 dinars will be used for purchasing ten computers for children on Kosovo-Metohija.
