Serbia, Sweden sign memorandum of cooperation in energy sector

Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov and Swedish State Secretary of Industry and Trade Lars-Olof Lindgren signed today in Belgrade a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries concerning their cooperation in the sector of energy and mining.
The signing of the Memorandum is the result of this year’s intensive work of Serbian and Swedish representatives, and will help to make the cooperation between the countries’ energy and mining companies more concrete.
The signing of the Memorandum means that Serbia’s geostrategic position in southeast Europe will be fully recognised, as well as its key role when it comes to regional stability and secure and safe supply of energy.
The Memorandum is the basis for further cooperation between Serbian and Swedish companies and institutions, and another significant step towards the strengthening of ties between the two countries.
