Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojsa Stefanovic, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Spain, presented a military memorial medal for his contribution to the defence system of the Republic of Serbia to Brigadier General Jose Luis Sanchez Martinez-Faler.

The medal was awarded to General Martinez-Faler in recognition of his wholehearted assistance in maintaining the level of operational capabilities of the Serbian Army contingent, at the time when he was the commander of the East Sector of the UN peacekeeping operation in the Republic of Lebanon UNIFIL.
According to him, General Martinez-Faller thus made a significant contribution to the international promotion of the Serbian Army and raising the reputation of our country.
General Martinez-Faller pointed out that it was very easy to cooperate with 142 soldiers, who made up the Serbian contingent, because they are top professionals, very disciplined, trained and motivated.
