Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with president of the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Theodore Meron and said that Serbia desires to complete the cooperation with the Tribunal in the Hague, as well as to fulfil all its international obligations.

He pointed out that there is clear and unambiguous willingness on the part of all state organs in Serbia to successfully complete the cooperation with the Tribunal as soon as possible.
Kostunica specially stressed that the general public mood toward Serbia has changed since the country improved its cooperation with the Tribunal. We now have full and undivided support to entirely and successfully conclude this cooperation, he added.
Two-way cooperation, which includes provisional release of indictees until the beginning of the trial, also has a considerable influence on the process of concluding the cooperation.
Meron pointed out that since his last visit to Belgrade in March this year, Serbia has achieved important results in its cooperation with the Tribunal.
The successful cooperation has helped Serbia-Montenegro to improve their overall relations with the international community, and the proof of this is the beginning of talks on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU.
Meron said he regrets that he will soon leave the presidential position, although some of the most important indictees are still at large.
