Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic, who is on a multi-day visit by the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture to the US, met with the US Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Charles Conner, with whom she talked about improving trade cooperation between the two countries.

The statement of the Ministry of Agriculture states that during the meeting, agricultural reforms in Serbia were presented as well as the possibilities of improving trade cooperation between the US and Serbia and the possibility of exporting Serbian products that can compete on the US market.
The process of Serbia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) was also discussed, which is one of the basic preconditions for improving trade relations.
Conner, during the meeting, expressed full readiness of the US Department of Agriculture to help ease Serbia’s accession to the WTO through technical aid and other measures.
The US Department of Agriculture also supported various programmes, beginning with the establishment of market information systems, food safety programmes, development of book-keeping systems on farms and other programmes, the statement reads.
