Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic will head a Serbian government delegation on a visit to Washington from November 6 to 11. The delegation has been invited to Washington by the US Department of Agriculture.

The purpose of the visit is to exchange ideas and experiences with representatives of the American administration regarding the process of Serbia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), as well as looking into trade in agricultural and food products.
The participants of the meeting will talk about how to make the best use of Serbia’s recently approved GSP status, which allows its companies a customs-free export of goods into the American market.
Certain technical issues concerning Serbia’s accession to the WTO will be focused on, along with the issues that the American side put forward at the first meeting of the working group for Serbia’s accession to the WTO, held on October 7 in Geneva.
During their visit, the Serbian delegation will hold several meetings with representatives of the US administration and the World Bank.
The Serbian delegation will also meet with US Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Charles Conner, the statement concludes.
