Belgrade, March 25, 2004 - A panel discussing the National Blood Transfusion Service Project, set to become a driving force in defining and implementing Serbia's blood transfusion policy, was held at the Belgrade Faculty of Medicine today, the Serbian Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The participants pointed to the need for a reform of the National Blood Transfusion Service and added that blood supplies in Serbian hospitals must be improved.
Attending the panel were Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic, officials of the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR), World Health Organisation (WHO), Red Cross, and local experts.
