Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin marked today, together with European Union Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Ylva Johansson, the beginning of joint work of Frontex and Serbian border police.
On that occasion, Vulin pointed out that the cooperation with Frontex is a cooperation that is very useful for Serbia, but at the same time useful for the EU, stating that every migrant who is stopped at the Serbian border is a less migrant in Vienna or Berlin.
He explained that, thanks to the help of Frontex, the Serbian police will be able to use their capacities, not only when it comes to the fight against irregular migration, but also when it comes to the fight against cross-border crime, smuggling and all forms of crime.
Johansson pointed out that the joint work of Frontex and the Serbian border police is important for the prevention of international, cross-border and other types of crime, as well as illegal entry.
